Happy Birthday, Nick! What A Day!

Today was Nick's birthday. So we cancelled piano and ballet and got in the car to explore the island together.

We had a great time. So much of this island looks the same(green pastures, blue oceans, white houses) but it is so amazingly different too.

We went up to a high look-out point not to far from our house. It was up hear the windmills which generate a lot of the power for our side of the island. There is farmland and pastures everywhere. Cows get used to standing on the side of a hill, I guess. Caleb, our family daredevil, decided to walk the railing.

Then we all had to join in. Can you see the concentration?

Later we went to an old Fort used back in the 1600's to defend the island from the Spanish. I am not sure why we didn't take a picture of the outside of it, but these are all taken inside it, where they have turned it into a place with animals, picnic tables, playgrounds, and hiking trails.

Some buildings still remain even though I don't think they are all as old as the original fort.

A sink made out of rocks...it could entertain boys for hours.

Our birthday boy! 10 already, how does it happen so fast?

I didn't take any pictures of the cake and celebration part. These adventures of the day are the memories I want to remember.

As memórias. I was very curious about those ugly trees too. They do bloom thick and green. There are a few in Pleasant Grove that I remember. ENJOY!
