First Day of Kindergarten

It is hard to believe that Caleb is old enough to go to Kindergarten. But boy I am thankful that he is!! He has been so excited for school. His first day was Monday. I am nervous to have a weekend cause he will be sad to not go to school.

Birch Lake

Last winter Megan won a free cabin rental at Birch Lake(a military camping/resort). We decided that we had better get there since it is almost fall here. The area is really beautiful.
The weather was great. Too chilly for the water though.
We stayed in a little cabin. The kids thought that it was great. It had a wood stove in it, which was a hit.

We will definitely be heading back next summer.

State Fair

On Thursday we went to the Alaska State(regional) Fair. It was chilly and rainy but still fun.

Caleb loved the animals. His favorite was a sheep. But this guy was friendly too!

Megan and her friend Sophie on a ride. Sophie was upset that the seat was wet and dirty, but as soon as the ride started she was fine!

I love this picture because Jake looks quite ill. He said that he had fun, but it makes me wonder.

Last year Caleb was too short to ride this ride. He was talked about it ever since. Fortunately he grew!! He was able to ride and you couldn't take the smile off his face! Best 4 minutes of his life!
Curtis got called up to help on a show. The guy ended up juggling a machete, a cleaver knife, and an apple on a unicycle. Impressive....but why?

Rescue School

Curtis left for Rescue School in the first part of July. He came home on Aug 1st. The school was held in Okinawa, Japan. While there they learn more indepth ways to "rescue" people in different situations. One could hardly call it a school. It was more of a man's playgroup!
Curtis did really well. He came home as the distinguished graduate! We are really proud of him.

P.S. I really have no idea of the what and why's of these pictures. So I can offer no more explanation!

Swim Lessons

On Thursday the boys finished up with their swim lessons. The program was poorly done and we will go somewhere else next year, but the boys had fun.
Megan was good to sit by and watch but desperately wanted to get in the water.

After they finished reviewing their strokes, they got to "play". They spent the rest of their time jumping off the diving board.
